8 of Fire, 8 of Wands

My 8 of Fire is a simple card, that echoes the RWS imagery of eight wands flying through the air.  

Meteors with trails like sparkling diamonds, streak swiftly towards the earth. Meteor showers are spectacular sights that fill our hearts with awe and wonder. The ancients believed they were portents of great change, for good or ill. They can inspire us to move quickly and burn brightly, as we move towards making our visions a reality.

On to the 8 of Water!

Favorite part of this card? Not all the comets are heading in exactly the same trajectory. Some are closer as well. I like the freedom that gives me as a reader. :) Don't know if you meant to do it, but that's what it does for me.

Hi Arwen -- it was more of an intuitive choice for me, when working out the composition. I didn't consciously think about how it work in a reading. But I see you are right! Very cool.

Hi Joanna!

I'm really enjoying the eights. So far they all seem to hold a critical combination of possibility and uncertainty - major themes for me these days.

You mentioned that you miss the quiet of your island home, and recently I have finally been reunited with the quiet of my forest home - after three years of absence. I finally had the chance to star gaze again, and I kept thinking about how the stars, like so many things in our world, are so easily "missed" without being "missed" if we aren't careful!

One must be looking and listening in order to find inspiration. That's what I remember when I see this card.

Hi Joanna - I love the energy of the 8 of Fire and I mistakenly said 8 of Air yesterday too!! I guess because it conjures up the image of freedom that flying does and the fire meteors light up the sky!! It's a fabulously simple card and yet draws one in - total vibrant passion!!
