New Tarot Amulets w/a Halloween theme!

I now have a few new Tarot Amulet necklaces available to purchase. Many of these have an All-Hallows theme featuring the Elder of Fire. Amulets, we have amulets!

I spent a good part of the weekend making up a new batch of Tarot Amulets, as Lunaea and I will be selling them at BATS this coming October. I'll be shipping them down to her in Santa Cruz soon so she can get started on the beading.  I'll be selling the one-of-a-kind pieces on my website starting in mid-October too.  But we're also taking custom orders now, so if there's a specific RWS or Gaian Tarot amulet you'd like to have, please drop me a line and let me know.  You can order it with or without the beaded necklace. Amulets are $50 and the full beaded necklace with amulet is $95 (you'll discuss color options with Lunaea).

The amulets are hand made by me, each and every one, from polymer clay, gold leaf, Pearlex powders, archival watercolor papers and transparencies. The beaded necklaces are made by Lunaea Weatherstone and are very similar to the necklaces she makes for her luscious Goddess Rosaries.

Epiphanies from the Readers Studio

(Note:  I started writing this blog entry last Wednesday, May 6th but didn’t finish it until today.  It’s long!)

I’m still in recovery mode from my two weeks on the road and especially from the intensity of the Readers Studio.  My body thinks it’s still on the east coast and I’m craving unhealthy foods — yes, I even started eating french fries and ketchup Sunday evening in the bar. (It’s all Thalassa’s fault. Not.)  I’ll make a green smoothie in a bit and my body will thank me for it.

Once the rain stopped, the lush Northwest landscape (the proverbial thousand shades of green) took me to its heart and wrapped me up like a patchwork comforter.  Home.

For the moment, I am not noticing all the weeding and yard cleanup that needs to be done.  Just drinking in the green.

I think this was my favorite Readers Studio of all, so far.  I had a lot of fun socializing, made a pretty penny at my merchant table, and had a number of personal epiphanies.  What more can one ask for?   (For those of you who haven’t seen my photo albums of the RS on Facebook, you can click through here:  Thursday, Friday, Sat/Sunday.

Sneak Preview - Tarot Amulets!

I've been dreaming and designing one-of-a-kind Tarot amulets since this time last year.  It took me several months of on-again, off-again work on techniques and prototypes to come up with something that I really, really like — but I'm so pleased with the final results.

Each amulet is one-of-a-kind, handmade and signed by me, and carries the energy of a particular Tarot card. I condensed the spirit of each card down into one simple word.  For example, the Magician says "Magic," the High Priestess "Listen" and the Fool, "Leap."  The amulets are made of polymer clay, gold leaf, sparkly mica powder and archival prints of Rider-Waite-Smith images. (I'll make some amulets with Gaian Tarot prints eventually but right now I'm honoring St. Pixie – Pamela Colman Smith.)

The beautiful beaded necklaces are designed and made by Lunaea Weatherstone, who is taking a break from making her wondrous Goddess rosaries to help me out.  

We are both working hard to finish up a batch of Tarot amulet necklaces that I will take to sell at my vending table at the Readers Studio at the end of the month.  (Each necklace sells for $75.00.)  When I return, I'll put some up on my site to sell too.   Please let me know if you have a favorite Tarot card that you'd like to see made into an amulet necklace.
