Amy's Gaian Reading
I had the privilege of reading for a few people at the Readers Studio with my Gaian deck-in-progress. One of those people was Amy Lamash who does the Tarot Calendar.
Amy has posted a lovely, detailed account of the reading we did together and she’s given me permission to link to it. I think you'll enjoy hearing about how one person internalizes the meanings of the cards as it applies to her own situation. Thanks Amy! I'm glad the reading was so meaningful for you.
Amy wrote to me and mentioned that she started going out to sit by the river after work since coming home from the RS, which is one of the ideas that came to her from her Wisdom Self through the reading. I was so pleased to hear that! One of the intentions I set with the Gaian deck when I first envisoned it was that I wanted to inspire people to get out and spend more time in Nature, learning directly from Her rather than just from the metaphors, symbols and images of Nature. And here Amy is doing it. Blessed be!
(If the link doesn’t work, go to www.hudsonvalleytarot.com, click on "My Readings", then the reading with me.)

Joanna, that reading is one of the highlights of the Reader's Studio. Thank you so much! The Gaian tarot brings me back to my Spirituality.
The deck reminds me of that special place I go to in my imagination to be at peace. Many thanks for your gift.

That's an interesting spread. How did you decide which spread to use, and who decided? When accomplished tarot readers get together to read for each other, I bet it adds a really interesting dynamic to the readings!

Thanks Amy (Mimers)! And you are so welcome.
Danielle (xfildchild, right?) -- I decided on the spread after hearing what Amy's question was. I knew we had about 40 minutes or so, time enough for a 10 card spread. This one is a standard spread I've used for many years. It's my adjustment of the Motherpeace spread which in turn is a tweaked version of our old friend the Celtic Cross. Karen Vogel's little book on Motherpeace has a great explanation of the card placements, if my memory is correct. Thanks for asking!
Amy was great to read for, because she looked at the cards and immediately knew what they meant to her. We had a great dialog, which is my favorite way to read the cards.

The quote "Worry is using your imagination to create something you don't want." Is that your own thought or are you quoting someone else? Either way, I love it.
BTW, your deck is amazing.

Thanks Ellen-Mary! The quote is not my thought, it is from Abraham-Hicks. I saw it quoted somewhere and put it on a sticky note on my computer where I see it every day. I haven't studied the A-H material and don't know a lot about it, but that quote definitely resonated with this worrywart Capricorn.
