Explorers of Air, Fire, Water & Earth

ExplorercardsI've been working long hours the last few days, both on my own projects and for clients. Later today we'll begin our pre-party decluttering, cleaning and decorating.

But for now, I'm most happy to introduce my newest Gaian Tarot cards, the Explorers, who correspond to Knights in traditional decks.  As always, I'm happy to hear any feedback you have on these.

Blessed Sea!  (as Sister Kim Mermaid would say)

Every time you post photos of new cards I get so excited at the thought of an entire Gaian Tarot deck coming to life. These are beautiful, Joanna!

once again, you have amazed me with your talent and sage wisdom. These knight cards are exquisite and beautiful and I am sooooo looking forward to the completed deck to be in my hands and for what it has to teach me. Nice work Joanna! such a true Goddess! Slpash!

How fun! They're all marvelous. Right this minute, I feel most drawn to the Explorer of Fire, but that could shift. Earlier it was the Explorer of Earth.

Hi Joanna,

Once again you have awed and inspired me, these Explorer cards are beautiful. I'm particularly drawn to the Earth Explorer. It gave me goosebumps, like I'd been there before. I wanted to step right into the forest and touch the stag. I could feel him drawing me in, calling me to new adventures.

Keep up the good work!

Hi Joanna, I'll admit it. I was disappointed with your choice of making the pages into Children. I really like my tarot decks to have an equal number of adult male and female court cards. The pages to me were always the Princesses. But, wow, you've pulled me right back in. The Explorers are fantastic. You've made the gender-equal young adults exactly as I imagine them to be. I would easily be able to use these in a reading. Thanks.

really well done. It feels that you have
entered the world of the 'Knighthood' in a very contemorary way. lots of room to be with the elements and speak their ever gracious language.
thanks..
peace to you

Joanna, I've been gazing at the explorers all morning... they are lovely! I'm not quite sure which one I am most attracted to just yet... but I do know that they ALL have me enchanted.

It's so much fun to watch your tarot slowly grow and evolve with life.

Joanna, the Explorers are magnificent, and I sat here for ages, just gazing at the cards. The evolution of your beautiful tarot deck is a constant source of wonder and delight, and it will be such a pleasure to work with this deck. Love and BB, Cate

These are ... what can I say? Gorgeous? Moving? Perfect? Taroterrific? I must visit your blog more regularly. I loved reading your earlier post about the stages we writers/artists go through in creating. Here too! I also liked seeing an earlier stage of your Explorer of Earth. Bright Blessings!

hello Joanna-- I have never signed in to a blog, but I have loved the mail you send and lovee watching the Gaian deck---it draws the natural side out--I usually read from the point of what my angels tell me--I will enjoy the results of it all when it's doneyour heart is in the cards and that shows as all metaphysical fellings should come from--blessed be to your work of the heart-Nancy

Hi, Joanna. I love 3 of the "Explorer" cards very, very much.
I feel a little bit off when looking at the Water Explorer. Sure, he is young and daring while exploring the waves, but there is no warmth or feeling.
I would rather have seen a diver/snorkeler exploring a coral reef, or swimming thru algae surrounded by fish or sea otters, or swimming with a dolphin and trying to touch it.

Bright Blessings :)
Namaste...Christina

Joanna, I love your interpretation of the explorers. That is exactly how I see the "Knights": setting off on a quest to put energy and drive into motion, and full of youthful excitement and vigor. I've always been a little put off by some of the traditional interpretations of the Knights. It seems the emphasis is often put on their negative qualities. As always, I enjoy your postitive outlook on things. Blessings, Robin Wallace
